Done Deal: Chelsea legend Claude Makelele appointed Swansea coach

CLAUDE MAKELELE has joined Paul Clement's coaching staff.

The new Swansea boss has added the former Chelsea and Real Madrid battler to his backroom team.

Makelele worked with Clement at Stamford Bridge and Paris St-Germain.

And he's now been drafted in to help the south Wales club with their survival fight.

The French international took up his first coaching role at PSG before a six-month stint in charge of Bastia.

He's also had a technical director position at Monaco.

Makelele, who helped France to the 2006 World Cup final, starred for Chelsea during Jose Mourinho's first spell in charge.

His anchoring role in front of the Blues defence was vital as the Blues swept to back-to-back Premier League titles.

Makelele left Chelsea for PSG in 2008 and ended his career back in his homeland.
