We released every Man Utd player on FM24 to see who would actually buy them

It's been a disastrous season so far for Manchester United who've already crashed out of two competitions with the likelihood of winning silverware looking increasingly unlikely

It's not a particularly fun time to be a Manchester United player - or fan - right now.

The Premier League side sit a lowly seventh in the table and have already suffered a whopping 14 defeats this season in all competitions. Having crashed out of the Champions League and the EFL Cup, silverware for Erik ten Hag looks to be a pipe dream at this moment in time, unless an FA Cup run comes to the rescue.

It's also not likely the Red Devils will be able to bring in reinforcements this month thanks to FFP restrictions. But departures from Old Trafford have already begun, with £40million flop Donny van de Beek exiting on loan to Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.

Despite Ten Hag spending a whopping £400m-plus since his arrival in Manchester in 2022, the quality of his squad pales in comparison to title contenders Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal. He certainly hasn't been helped by the poor performances from the likes of Andre Onana, Marcus Rashford and Antony, and many more who've let down United fans once again, or injuries to last season's star men Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez.

In a simulation that is bound to please those fans who are simply sick of the sight of the current crop of United underachievers, Daily Star Sport released every player on their books on the popular game Football Manager 2024. The decision sees some players bag a massive move, while a few are thrusted into the bottom half of the Premier League table at a level that may be more suited to their talents... according to some United fans.

Andre Onana - Bayern Munich

Lisandro Martinez - PSG

Aaron Wan-Bissaka - Bournemouth

Harry Maguire - Newcastle United

Raphael Varane - Real Madrid

Luke Shaw - PSG

Victor Lindelof - Inter

Diogo Dalot - Al Ettifaq

Tyrell Malacia - Still a free agent in January

Casemiro - Chelsea

Christian Eriksen - Wolves

Scott McTominay - Crystal Palace

Antony - Lille

Bruno Fernandes - Tottenham

Mason Mount - Borussia Dortmund

Jadon Sancho - Borussia Dortmund

Facundo Pellistri - Wolves

Alejandro Garnacho - Brighton

Marcus Rashford - Real Madrid

Anthony Martial - Crystal Palace

Rasmus Hojlund - Aston Villa

Kobbie Mainoo - Arsenal

Amad Diallo - West Brom

It would definitely be a huge shock to see Bayern Munich go for the erratic Onana as the replacement to one of the world's best goalkeepers in Manuel Neuer. But perhaps even more surprising would be Real Madrid swooping for Rashford, after his three Premier League goals so far in 2023/24.

However, the simulation certainly has some accuracy, considering United outcast Jadon Sancho is edging closer to a Borussia Dortmund return this month. While it's not good reading for Dutch international Tyrell Malacia who is the only United player to find himself without a club in this experiment - a startling indictment on how his career in Manchester has turned out after such a bright start.
