Download this software to enable voice dialing over Bluetooth wireless technology on the Palm Treo 800w from Sprint. Your Treo 800w comes with Bluetooth 2.0 and you can use it with various Bluetooth headsets and car kits for hands-free calling experience.
This software download will enhance the convenience of hands-free calling, as it will enable the use of your Bluetooth headset or car kit to initiate voice calls on the Treo 800w via Voice Command voice dialing software.
Please follow the instructions below to enable Voice Command and use it with the Bluetooth headsets and car kits.
Do you need this download?
Press Start . Select Settings.
Select the System tab. Open About. Go to the Phone tab.
Look at the Software Version. What do you see?
* Treo800w-1.03-SPNT: Yes, you should install this update.
* Any other numbers: No, this update will not work with your device.
Effect of resets on this software
If you install the Voice Dialing over Bluetooth Download and perform a hard reset, you will need to re-install the Voice Dialing over Bluetooth Download.
If you install the Voice Dialing over Bluetooth Download and perform a soft reset, no action is necessary. The Voice Dialing over Bluetooth Download remains installed after a Soft Reset.
Installation via ActiveSync with a desktop PC
Ensure that the Treo 800w is plugged into a power source.
Download the file: Treo800w-VoicedialOverBT.cab. When asked, select Save (do not select "Run" or "Open").
Connect your Treo 800w to the USB sync cable, and allow it to complete synchronization.
On your PC, open My Computer, and then open Mobile Device.
Open the My Windows Mobile-Based Device icon.
Open the Program Files folder.
Drag the file you downloaded, Treo800w-VoicedialOverBT.cab (Note: this will appear as a .zip file on the Windows desktop), to the Program Files folder. This process will copy the installer to your device.
Disconnect your Treo 800w from the USB sync cable.
On your Treo 800w, press Start . Then select File Explorer.
Open the Program Files folder, and select the Treo800w-VoicedialOverBT.cab file.
Select OK when prompted about the file conversion process.
Monitor the installation process. A screen will say "Installing Treo800w-VoicedialOverBT.cab"
After the update completes, a message will prompt you to restart your device. Select OK and the device will restart.
After the device restarts, installation of the Voice Dialing Over Bluetooth Download has successfully completed.
