Brit woman falls to her death from 10th floor balcony in Benidorm holiday resort

A BRITISH woman has died after plunging from a tenth-floor flat in the holiday resort of Benidorm.

The 27-year-old, thought to be a tourist, died instantly in the tragedy this morning around 8am.

Police sources say the incident occurred while she was still partying with friends.

An investigation has been launched.

Police are treating the fall as a tragic accident at this stage, although it is understood they have not ruled out suicide.

Several of the friends with her at the time were being questioned as witnesses this afternoon.

The unnamed woman plunged from an apartment block called the Apartamentos Payma in the Little England area of Benidorm.

The two-star apartments, just a short distance from the beach, offer holiday accommodation and are geared towards Brits.

Supermarket worker Danielle Hall, 21, from Newcastle, plunged to her death in the resort last November after losing her balance on her ninth-floor hotel balcony.

She had travelled to Benidorm to take part in Benidorm’s festivities with her boyfriend Jordan Bevan, 23, and his gran.

Danielle’s family said in a statement afterwards: “Danielle was an outgoing and friendly girl who will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

“She loved children and animals, especially horses and dogs. She enjoyed helping on the family farm, especially at lambing time.

A police spokesman was unable to shed much light on the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

He said: “All we can say at this stage is that a British woman born in 1989 has fallen from a ten-floor flat in Benidorm and died as a result.

“The matter is under investigation. It appears she was with other people at the time.”

He was not able to say where in the UK the woman was from.
