Female teacher 'wanted to take boy's virginity' and fondled him in car next to baby
A teacher has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a student and even at one point allegedly getting them into their car to carry out sexual acts while her infant was in the vehicle
A teacher has been accused of taking her infant child along to groom a student, 15, for sex.
Police in Louisiana, in the US, arrested Tatum Hatch on January 3 after the boy’s father reportedly raised the alarm. According to local outlet KNOE, the 32-year-old teacher from West Monroe High School's alleged affair came to the attention of both Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office and West Monroe Police Department after the child’s father approached the sheriff.
He has said there were Instagram messages which back up claims from his son about the existence of the inappropriate liaison. Arrest records reportedly show Hatch telling the child to climb in the bedroom window while messages between the two reportedly show teacher Hatch saying she would get in less trouble if the student came to her house, rather than her going to theirs, according to the Sheriff’s department.
According to investigators, the messages went on for months and included Hatch telling the student she was scared they would go on and find someone else to be their "first", New York Post reports. The liaisons allegedly included one at an out-of-hours school function.
The student also said that Hatch sent them nude photos but that they had been sent using vanishing messages and as such were no longer visible.
She is understood to have resigned from her post when the probe started.
One accusation claimed that Hatch drove to the victim’s house around a year ago and touched him inappropriately inside the vehicle. Police have alleged that on that incident, the teacher’s child had been in the car. The quizzing of Hatch by police reportedly led to the admission that she had spoken to him on Instagram.
Police said she had been scared of having her children taken away and did not answer some questions. Meanwhile, it has also been alleged that she gave the student money because she was afraid of him. She was arrested on one count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor.
Hatch was bonded on January 4.
