JonBenét Ramsey's dad has gained plenty of attention since a Netflix documentary revealed the truth of his daughter's case – and he claims her death was carried out by a hired hitman.

John Ramsey, 80, suffered a terrible crime in which his daughter was kidnapped with a ransom note left behind. However, later that day he discovered his daughter's body in the basement and found out she had been sexually assaulted and murdered in her own home in a brutal attack. To this day the murder remains unsolved, but 28 years on John claims it was a hitman.

Speaking to RadarOnline.com, John was told the suspect with the alias David Cooper, was a professional killer hired by a disgruntled ex-employee of his business. He claims they carried out the murder of his six-year-old daughter.

Adding to this, John said Cooper had been in frequent contact with him through phone calls. In them, he was said to confess his crime and provide several close details of the murder of his daughter.

John's suspicions were raised when Cooper described details in the house which would have otherwise been unknown to a stranger, such as a red model aeroplane on John's desk. Despite this, John said that the police had no interest in perusing the case or his claims.

John told Radar: "I called the police but they weren’t interested in following up on it." Cooper was said to admit to sneaking into the house through an unlocked door and waited until the family were asleep to make his horrific attack.

The men were said to have shared two long phone calls, detailing the crime and how Cooper appeared to have commit it. He also revealed the motive.

Cooper's said the former employee who felt "screwed over" when John sold his computer company Access Graphics to Lockheed Martin for $1billion. John is a wealthy business man, who managed several employees.

FBI behavioural expert John Douglas spoke to John to help him make closer sense of the crime. He said the brutal attack was to get through to John, rather to harm JonBenét directly.

John tried to get the man behind the phone calls to fly over to their area, to get DNA and real answers. However, the police were said to claim the man was not credible, and therefore not worth interviewing.

However, it appears John is still determined to get the truth. A woman recently contacted him, believing her late husband could have been behind the murder.

John has not yet spoken to him, but intends to.
