Lizzy Groombridge, 30, is a model and influencer who often hits the headlines for her long legs but she says people sometimes assume she's a man because of her height

A model who towers at 6ft 3in has said that people often mistake her for a man – but that doesn't deter husbands from ogling her.

Lizzy Groombridge, 30, frequently makes the news due to her extraordinarily long legs. The mother-of-three has previously sold her used tights for an impressive £38,000 and confessed to raking in £114,000 a year from selling pictures of her size nine feet.

However, her lucrative ventures haven't been without their hurdles.

She says people often confuse her for a man and she is subjected to a barrage of "harsh" comments from internet users and the public alike. Nonetheless, this hasn't stopped married men from sneaking glances at her, even when their wives are present, as evidenced by one video with 8.6m views and more than 53,000 likes.

"I definitely notice when men look at me in a certain way, especially when their partner is right there," the model revealed. "I don't feel threatened most of the time, but it can be annoying, and I know it makes the woman feel insecure.

"But that's not my fault. I usually don't say anything; just shut them down with my body language.

"I'm not going to entertain disrespect. Sometimes, I'll give the woman a polite smile just to show I'm not the problem. It's awkward, though I'm not here to entertain married men."

In one clip, a man chats to Lizzy on the tube and they both chuckle about her height, reports Cornwall Live. His wife, however, stands next to them looking rather displeased. She captioned the video: "POV: You're ruining marriages because you're a 7ft giantess."

Lizzy explains that when she travels abroad, the issue becomes more pronounced as towering women are "rare". This frequently results in people wrongly assuming she's a "man".

She revealed: "I've been told to use a different toilet because they truly believed there was no way I could be a woman. I'm just tall – it's very discriminatory.

"I get it online, too. It makes me feel a little embarrassed.

"People do a double take or act surprised when I tell them I'm actually a woman. I love being tall while feeling feminine and comfortable in my own skin.

"I'm starting to see the funny side more now, as I've learned to embrace it. It's a great way to break the ice."

Regarding romance, she remains blissfully happy with her long-term partner, Ollie, 28. However, her stature has previously caused considerable "toxicity," as past boyfriends have felt "intimidated" by her height.

She continued: "I've had people trying to verbally intimidate me because of how fearful they are of me. I'm just tall; not harmful.

"This is just a tainted ego, though. Being tall is who I am and the right people appreciate that.

"I might have a stronger jawline and shoulders than most women, but that doesn't make me any less feminine. It's just society clinging onto narrow beauty standards. I'm not here to shrink for anyone."
