'Most notorious' suburb where people get 'splattered' and cars do burnouts in street

Spanian, who himself 'was raised in the housing areas of Sydney city' took a trip to another major Australian metropolis, Melbourne, to check out its 'most notorious' suburb far from the polished city centre

The “most notorious hood in Melbourne” where people get “splattered,” cars do burnouts in the road and victims are “assaulted in the street” turned into the scene of a raucous party.

YouTuber Spanian trekked out to the far reaches of Melbourne Australia to check out the suburb of Melton which he explained was pretty much as far out to the edge of the sprawling city as you can go. “Melton’s always been a bit f***ed but it’s got really bad,” he explains to the camera.

The film maker adds: “It’s sort of like a barren town left to rot. A lot of criminals out there, a lot of fights, assaults in the street with weapons and stuff."

The content creator has amassed a sizable following exploring the “hoods” around the world but now was back in his home country of Australia to check out Melton. Upon arrival, he was met by masses of baying kids on bikes, revving engines and cheering him

After countless handshakes and welcomes, the area erupted into a party with drinks sloshing, trucks smoking and bikes revving their engines, spinning their wheels and sending great plumes of smoke up into the air. Crowds gathered as a bloke on a motorcycle did doughnuts and people danced in the man-made fog.

“Spanian comes Melton gets it locked down,” he says after realising people have blocked off the street, now marked extensively by tyres.

He’s asked by a child what he thinks of Metlon so far, “it’s crazy,” he responds.

Spanian talks about prison food with a man recently released from the cage and a group of teens tell him: “We all know who each other are.”

Followed by a massive group of people as he walks down the street, they stroll past a “local club” where there are “stabbings, slashings, but it’s still pumping”.

Despite the violence and the concerns Spanian touches on, it is clear there is a strong sense of community in Melton, as everyone comes and enjoys the day while their well-known guest is in town.

“Someone jumped off this bridge here bro, we seen him splattered,” one man tells him as they walk. "Jumped in front of a truck. Aimed a truck coming underneath and jumped and boom.

“You know when you jump on a… juice box and it sprays – that’s what his head was like bro, just popped.”

As they walk across the bridge, cars do wild burnouts on the road and tyre smoke once again fills the sky, at one point a police car even drives by, but no one seems to take too much notice.
