The Championship match between Sheffield United and Blackpool produced four red cards, six goals and last minute equaliser in a game that had echoes of the Battle of Bramall Lane

Sheffield United and Blackpool served up the Battle of Bramall Lane II on a crazy afternoon in the Championship.

The two sides shares six goals, four red cards and a heated post-match brawl involving both sets of players and support staff in a match that had echoes of United's famous clash against West Brom from 2002.

Unlike that encounter 20 years ago, this game survived the full 90 minutes - plus nine minutes of added time that contained a last minute equaliser and two red cards after the final whistle.

United goalkeeper Wes Foderingham clashed with Blackpool's Shayne Lavery after the referee had blown for full time, with a clip circulating online appearing to show Foderingham dragging the forward to the ground.

That prompted a huge fracas involving both sets of player. After David Webb finally regained some sort of control, he showed red cards to both Foderingham and Lavery, bringing the total of sendings off in the game to four.

Blackpool had earlier seen two players receive their matching orders in the space of three minutes as the game entered the last ten minutes. Marvin Ekpiteta went for two bookings, before team-mate Dominic Thompson suffered the same fate a few minutes later.

At that stage the visitors were 3-2 up, having fought back from 2-0 down. Manchester City loanee James McAtee put the Blades in front after just eight minutes, tapping home from close range.

Iliman Ndiaye then doubled United's lead midway through the first half in what was beginning to look like a routine victory for Paul Heckingbottom's high-flyers.

But Blackpool showed great resolve to draw level before half-time - Jerry Yates scoring both of the goals. And they turned the game on its head five minutes after the break when Kenny Dougall put them ahead for the first time.

That's how it stayed until the ninth minute of added time when Ollie Norwood volleyed home a late equaliser after Rhian Brewster had missed an earlier penalty.

All hell then broke loose after the final whistle in a match that will live long in the memory of those in attendance Bramall Lane, and those at the FA who will likely launch an investigation into the events at the end of the contest.
