Terrified passengers had to exit a plane via the emergency slides from a broken plane after it overshot the runway. Footage showed travellers disembarking the plane via two emergency slides in a hurry after the plane became damaged.

One man apparently collapsed to the ground and needed to be carried to the terminal. The aircraft was seen resting on dusty wasteland with apparent damage to the landing gear.

Flight FG312 overshot Runway 29 at Kabul International Airport in Afghanistan on Wednesday (March 25). According to reports, the Ariana Afghan Airlines passenger plane lost directional control upon landing and veered off the runway, ending up on the soft ground.

The emergency situation prompted a temporary suspension of all flight operations at the airport, as reported by Creatorzine.

Fire and rescue units arrived on the scene within minutes to secure the area and prevent any potential hazards.

The airline confirmed that all crew and passengers were safely evacuated from the Boeing 737-400 to the terminal.

All incoming flights were diverted to nearby airports while crews cleared the area and assessed the damage.

An airline spokesperson said: "An aircraft related to Ariana Afghan Airlines veered off the runway at Kabul International Airport during landing, but fortunately, no one was harmed in any way in this incident.

"According to initial information, the aircraft was safely stopped after technical control, and all passengers and flight crew were securely transferred from the aircraft to the terminal.

"Emergency technical teams have begun their investigations to assess the incident and determine its cause."
