O Liverpool recebeu em Anfield o Manchester City e venceu por 3-1 em jogo da 12.ª jornada da Liga inglesa.

A formação de Guardiola alinhou com o português, Bernardo Silva a titular.

Os citizens entraram com um ritmo intenso e até ao minuto 5 estiveram por cima do encontro, porém, num lance controverso em que o árbitro inglês, Michael Oliver, considerou não ter havido mão na bola por parte de Trent Arnold, e que chegou a ter protestos de Aguero, o Liverpool aproveitou a jogada seguinte para abrir o ativo.

Fabinho de fora da área fez o primeiro golo e aos 13 minutos Salah aumentou a vantagem para equipa da casa.

As equipas foram para o intervalo com o jogo a registar o 2-0. Já na segunda parte, Sadio Mané fez o terceiro tento para os comandados de Klopp ao minuto 51, Bernardo Silva ainda reduziu para os visitantes aos 78 minutos, mas a vitória não fugiu aos anfitriões.

Com este resultado, o Liverpool reforçou a liderança com 34 pontos, enquanto o Manchester City é quarto com 25, uma diferença pontual de nove pontos quando estão cumpridas 12 jornadas.

José Mourinho é o novo treinador do Tottenham

​

O treinador português José Mourinho, que estava no desemprego há quase um ano, é o sucessor do argentino Maurício Pochettino no comando do Tottenham, anunciou esta quarta-feira o 14.º classificado da Liga inglesa.
Mourinho, de 56 anos, assinou contrato com os spurs até 30 de junho de 2023 e volta à Premier League, depois de duas passagens pelo Chelsea (2004/05 a 2007/08 e 2013/14 a 2015/16) e uma pelo Manchester United (2016/17 a 2018/19), que o despediu em 17 de dezembro de 2018.

"Estou entusiasmado por me juntar a um clube com tão grande legado e com adeptos tão apaixonados. A qualidade da equipa e da academia entusiasmou-me e fiquei atraído por poder trabalhar com estes jogadores", afirmou Mourinho, citado pelo clube londrino, que detém dois títulos de campeão inglês, conquistados em 1950/51 e 1960/61.

Também em declarações ao site do Tottenham, o presidente do clube, Daniel Levy, elogiou o treinador português, considerando-o "um dos mais bem-sucedidos treinadores do futebol".

"Ele tem uma vasta experiência, pode inspirar equipas e é um grande estratega. Ele ganhou títulos em todos os clubes que treinou. Acreditamos que ele vai trazer energia e crença para o balneário", frisou Levy.

Na sua carreira, o treinador luso, que já venceu duas edições da Liga dos Campeões, uma Liga Europa e uma Taça UEFA, além de oito campeonatos nacionais, também orientou o Benfica, a União de Leiria, o FC Porto, o Inter Milão e o Real Madrid.

O Tottenham, finalista vencido da última edição da Liga dos Campeões, ocupa, após 12 jornadas, o 14.º lugar da Premier League, com 14 pontos, menos 20 do que o líder Liverpool, campeão europeu.

LIVERPOOL VENCE E REFORÇA LIDERANÇA

O Liverpool recebeu e venceu, este sábado, a equipa do Brighton por 2-1, num duelo a contar para a 14.ª jornada da liga inglesa.

Em partida marcada pela expulsão de Alisson aos 76 minutos de jogo, foi Virgil Van Dijk, um dos favoritos a vencer a Bola de Ouro 2019, quem fez a diferença para os reds, ao apontar um bis durante os primeiros 25 minutos de jogo (18’ e 24’).

Já no segundo tempo, a cerca de dez minutos do final do tempo regulamentar, Dunk (79’), fez o único golo do emblema de Brighton e reduziu a desvantagem para o 2-1 final.

Com este resultado, o Liverpool reforça a liderança, ficando agora a 11 pontos do segundo classificado, enquanto, com 15 pontos, o Brighton ocupa a 15.ª posição.

Everton anuncia saída de Marco Silva

Está confirmado. Marco Silva deixou esta quinta-feira de ser treinador do Everton. Minutos depois de a imprensa ter adiantado a informação, o anúncio oficial foi feito ao final da tarde pelos toffees em comunicado, numa nota na qual agradecem ao técnico português pelo trabalho feito nos últimos 18 meses, um período no qual nunca conseguiu uma sequência positiva de resultados que levasse o clube à posição pela qual os seus diretores ambicionavam.

A gota de água acabou por ser a derrota desta quarta-feira, diante do Liverpool (2-5), que seguiu às duas que a equipa de Goodison Park havia somado nas últimas partidas. Marco Silva deixa a equipa de Liverpool no 18.º posto, com 14 pontos, já dentro da zona de descida.

No comunicado, o Everton anuncia que Duncan Ferguson irá assumir o cargo de treinador de forma interina. Quanto ao sucessor, os toffees esperam anunciá-lo muito em breve.

O Liverpool somou este sábado a oitava vitória consecutiva para a Premier League, ao bater o lanterna-vermelha Watford, por 2-0, com dois golos de Salah.

O internacional egípcio abriu o marcador em Anfield aos 38 minutos, concluindo de forma letal rápido contra-ataque dos reds.

O segundo golo surgiria já perto do fim, à passagem do minuto 90, com um virtuoso toque de calcanhar do jogador de 27 anos.
