Joao Cancelo's loan move to Bayern Munich has led Man City fans to call for the return of Oleksandr Zinchenko who has been thriving at Arsenal since leaving the Etihad last summer

Manchester City fans have begged for Oleksandr Zinchenko to return to the club from Arsenal following Joao Cancelo's exit from the Etihad.

Cancelo left City to join Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day following a bust-up with Pep Guardiola stemming from the full back's lack of playing time. As a result, the Portugal international has moved to Bayern until the end of the season in a deal that includes a £61.5million option to buy.

And following Cancelo's departure, that has shocked City's fans, they're now calling for the return of Zinchenko who left to join Arsenal last summer. Zinchenko joined the Gunners for £32million in a bid for first-team football, although his move has been marred by injury thus far.

But that hasn't stopped City's faithful from imploring him back to Manchester as they lament the loss of Cancelo. Alongside a montage of Zinchenko dazzling for the Gunners one supporter said: "Hope you enjoyed your 6 month loan but it’s time to come home fella."

And under a clip of Zinchenko's role in Arsenal's 3-2 win over Man United, another user gushed: "Honestly Zinny I wanna run to you." A third user reminisced: "If only. I miss him tbh."

However, a slew of ruthless Arsenal fans waded into the conversation to make it clear that Zinchenko isn't going anywhere as he has a "title to win", in reference to the Gunners' prem title charge that sees them sitting five points clear of City at the table's summit. Zinchenko also showed where his loyalties now lie when he furiously pushed one of his old City team-mates during Arsenal's FA Cup loss to their rivals last week.

Funnily enough, Cancelo was one of the players who attempted to restrain Zinchenko, in what was to be his last game for City this season. But Cancelo could be the first in a long line of stars to get sold by Pep, as Spanish journalist Jose Alvarez claimed on Spanish TV show El Chiringuito that Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker, Joao Cancelo and Aymeric Laporte may be heading for the Etihad exit this summer.
